The Big Toppers went all over the show this year……………..they went on HMS Belfast, on a London Duck Tour, to the Coral Reef and Look Out Discovery Centre in Bracknell. They also went Ice Skating and Bowling at Queensway, to the Horniman Museum in south east London. They saw an amazing film about a South African Safari at the IMAX cinema at Waterloo and even went behind the scenes at the BBC! They went on Pedalos in Hyde Park and to the Diana Playground. They went to the Victoria and Albert Museum for a work shop and a parade around the museum. They cooked a delicious Carrot Cake and made smoothies at Yvonne’s house, and parents are desperate for the recipe! They created their very own ceramics and canvas work with Giles the very expert Ceramicist, and then took off the next day to Brighton to the new Doctor Who exhibition. They went to the Shri Swaminararayan Mandi (Temple) in Neasdon and played football with the Fulham coaches over at one of their training grounds. They trekked to the Woburn Safari Park and saw Lions, Rhino, and Tigers and of course Monkeys. They went on the Cutty Sark and heard stories about the sea and how Tea was transported across the world. They went swimming at Richmond Pools on a lovely hot day and to the London Aquarium to see Sharks! They had Sports Day in Richmond Park and went to Windsor Castle to take tea with the Queen, but she wasn’t in so they watched the changing of the guard and had a ride on an Open top Double Decker bus for a visit around Windsor and on a boat trip. They went behind the scenes at Chelsea Football stadium and found out all kinds of secrets! They went to the Tate Britain and the Tate Modern in one day using the Damien Hurst Spotty boat for transport. And this final trip inspired them to set up their own gallery here at Kitson Hall to display all the wonderful Art Work carried out over the past 5 weeks by the Barnes Summer Play School children.
What a great summer it’s been!
