Barnes summer play school

Finally we reached our 20 years of serving the Barnes community in providing most of the local children with summers full of fun and educated enjoyment!  No gold watch however, but a most amazing feeling of satisfaction that we did a great job and that all the local families embraced what we do.  Our end of year party was of the old fashioned kind.  Long trestle tables laden with jelly and Ice-cream, tea cakes, balloons, whistles to blow, parcels to open, and musical chairs to scoot around until a winner could be crowned. Clowns came and performed and Hip Auntie (http://www.hipauntie.com/) was there on great form to bring wonderful music to our ears!

Twenty years seems a lifetime and our summer school has meant so much to so many over the years.  It has meant an enormous amount to my own family too where all my children, step-children, and nieces (now very grown up) have played along with the other children and who are now managing the various departments within the school.  I am very proud of Barnes Summer Play School and Big Top Adventures which has been described by many as a ‘local institution’ which must carry on! And we intend to do just that.  Our team members (staff) all love working there and somehow manage to fit in the time over the summer to return with the greatest of enthusiasm.

2010 will be another brilliant summer!     Come and see us!
